Fight With Sensitivity Transgenders.

Transgender people face a truly shocking amount of violence and discrimination. In the first four months of 2014, 102 acts of violence had been recorded against transgender people in Uganda, including murders and attacks by mobs. That's horrific any way you put it. It's necessary for allies to step up to the plate to change attitudes, particularly if they witness any hate speech or act of oppression — but in a way that doesn't deprive trans people themselves of their rights or person hood. Am very open about the fact that "each and every one of us has the capacity to be an oppressor" — even those of us who think we're doing good. It can be very tempting to ride in, cis-gender, on your white horse, to Solve Trans Discrimination, but that can deny their capacity to fight for themselves. You're with them, but you ain't in charge.

EMERGENCY AID FOR NEEDY TRANSGENDER PERSONS IN RURAL AREAS OF UGANDA SEEKING FOR A SAFE PLACE.

I am called Bawonga Richard, from Uganda I’m a Transgender activist in Uganda as same as a peer educator who has been in the field for 5 years now and I have observed many challenges that face LGBTI community, this made me come with an idea to open up an organization called PRIDE FOR YOUTH Initiative to help our fellow LGBTI members, in providing health services to persons who affected with HIV/AIDs and others types of diseases, human rights access and sensitization of our community members and economic empowerment to them. A few months back, I was in the training on how to provide services to the Lgbti community and I came across these poor rural Lgbti persons in Uganda who are particularly vulnerable in times of disaster conditions, natural and economic.
