EMERGENCY AID FOR NEEDY TRANSGENDER PERSONS IN RURAL AREAS OF UGANDA SEEKING FOR A SAFE PLACE.

I am called Bawonga Richard, from Uganda I’m a Transgender activist in Uganda as
same as a peer educator who has been in the field for 5 years now and I have observed many challenges that face LGBTI community, this made me come with an idea to open up an organization called PRIDE FOR YOUTH Initiative to help our fellow LGBTI members, in providing health services to persons who affected with HIV/AIDs and others types of diseases, human rights access and sensitization of our community members and economic empowerment to them. A few months back, I was in the training on how to provide services to the Lgbti community and I came across these poor rural Lgbti persons in Uganda who are particularly vulnerable in times of disaster conditions, natural and economic.
Those without jobs, food, or homes face starvation in a harsh country or after other natural disasters or following being displaced by the community members, because of their sexual orientation and gender identity. In May, pride for youth Uganda visited a small village in Mityana district province of Kimuli and all was misery life of closet Lgbti members who suffer from discrimination, threats, stigma by the community members in the village they live in. persecutions by police officers by not knowing their rights
Many poor LGBTI members in Uganda who live on the edge of family disaster without a safety net in the province. All we need is to provide food, a safe place for staying for those people by having funds to plan ahead and buy provisions so as to be ready to respond as soon as needed.
The exemented budget for this project is 2,000, this 1000 of the money will be for foodstuffs and the remaining will be for renting a safe place for them, for the period of 1 year. Donations to this project will go towards efforts to provide aid to the most vulnerable in the case of severe pain or another disaster. All have a team that keeps supplies and monitors to alert to disasters that occur including in more remote areas
The aid provided will help the poor to feed themselves, provide fuel for cooking fires, and give other assistance as needed to help these people make it through the crisis points.
