Sexual Orientation 

Sexual orientation describes a pattern of emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attractions to males,females, both, or neither. These attractions are often labelled as heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, and asexuality.

Everyone has a sexual orientation. Your sexual orientation is defined by who you are attracted to, fall in love and want to live your life with.

People become aware of their emotional and sexual feelings at different times. Some people know when they are very young how they feel and whether they fancy boys, girls or both. For other people it is not so simple and it might take some time to work out what your sexual orientation is. Whatever orientation you feel you are, all of the different types are normal.  Human sexual attraction includes an ever increasing range of orientations and just because one feels attracted to one type of person now, it doesn’t mean that this will always be the case. The sexual orientation aspect to our sexuality may change over time and in different relationships. We are slowly moving away from labelling people as one orientation or another, to a society where everyone, whatever their sexual orientation is accepted, as long as their actions do not impinge, frighten or harm another person.
